It is almost August!

Time is flying by! It is almost August! What have you done to enjoy your summer?  We have not gone anywhere this summer, just too much to do here at home. Last night was the last VBS night. The kids had a blast and my family, can ya stand it! was featured!! LOL you just have to know us to get that! LOL
Sharon, the VBS director, decided to ask my son Chris to be in charge of the music, John (youngest son) was on drums, Chris played lead guitar...since last night was the last night for VBS, Sharon surprised us all and asked my husband to come up and join the music by playing "Wipeout"...well he played the bass!! So 3 out of the 6 family members were on stage!! LOL I loved it last night!! I was so happy to see my hubby get up there and jam!! Our interim Pastor had no idea the McNally family was so talented!!! LOL You just have to know us to understand, we don't brag, we just have a fun!!

After all the festivities last night at VBS I was walking to my truck and I noticed one of the younger moms so I stopped to say HI. I had learned that she homeschools, now remember...I have just retired from homeschooling so I thought I would just chat with her a minute and see how she was doing. When one homeschools, one comes under a lot of scrutiny. For some unknown reason people think that you are damaging your kids when you homeschool, and that you the parent is NOT qualified to teach your child/children!! Oh please don't get me started! I will put all 5 of my kids up against any public or private educated child any day! They are well educated, well behaved and socialized! I ended up standing outside chatting with her for well over an hour. I hope I was able to shed some light and give her some words of encouragement.

Well everyone, I need to get moving off the computer. I have some quilting patterns in the works, just can't reveal...stay tuned!

Happy Sewing!

Thread Playing

Yesterday was an interesting day. I had to wake up at 5am.
Why?
I know, seriously, why?
Cuz! LOL
No, seriously, I had to drive to the airport to go pick up our Alaska Mission Team. They were finally home! It was so wonderful to see my son Steve! The team was tired and wore out! They had flown the "red eye" flight....
As soon as I got him home, hubby and Steve loaded up my longarm quilting machine into the back seat of my truck and off I went to pick up Julia. Julia's machine also needed work. We drove over to Accomplish Quilting in Stevensville, MI (3 hours away). It was a great drive! I had great company, I was one tired person by the end of the day. I'm glad we went together!!
So, while I was waiting at Accomplish Quilting, here is what I did:

Isn't this cool!!! I drew this picture on my fabric, outlined it in black thread then began back filling also known as thread play with a variety of threads. I used YLI's Polished Poly and a variety of Long Staple Egyptian Cotton threads.  I'm not done with this whole cloth, this is just the beginning!! I can't wait to show you the finished quilt!!!
Happy Sewing everyone!!

IT is HOT here!!

WOW!
MICHIGAN IS HOT!!
Our heat index will be 103 today, what is up with that?!
I know how I'm gonna keep cool today, staying inside sewing!

Two days ago I drove over to Accomplish Quilting in Stevensville, MI. Accomplish Quilting is a dealer for Innova Longarm Quilting machines. I love this longarm!!! The owners and other employees: Julie and Doug all treated me wonderfully and stayed by my side to help me when needed! A lot of great things happening with Accomplish Quilting!! Here is a sample of what I did:
This picture is a sample that Accomplish Quilting had on the machine. They told me to just start sewing with the cording right over top of the work! So I did!! Way cool!!! Now look closely at the thread, it is thicker!! It is cording, metallic cording! Way cool!!
So then, they said here lets just place a new piece of fabric right over top of that work and lets use a different thread!! Are you serious?!! Ok, lets do it! So they did! LOL and I chose Silver metallic cording. Love love love it!!
I will be in their booth working on a quilt for you to stop by and see at the AQS Grand Rapids Show, August 14-17.
Just wait till you see what the Innova longarm can do!! It is fantastic!!
I'm going to be teaching longarm quilting with them also. Now this won't be every weekend, because I live 3 hours away...so watch for me to put up my teaching schedule!!

Man have I been slacking off with my blog!

Yes, I have been slacking off when it comes to my blog, sorry followers! I have been very very busy!

About 2 weeks ago I left for South Carolina. My mission for the trip to keep my sister occupied for her surprise anniversary party. She and her hubby have been married for 30 years! It was a wonderful party!! She and her hubby had no clue what was going on! Their daughter, Ashley and her hubby Greg were able to get all the necessary friends and supplies to their house without a hitch! Renee and Foot, were totally shocked and we all had a wonderful  night of celebrating their marriage.
While I was down there in the Carolinas lots happened. Here are some pics!! Now 1 picture is of my legs! Don't be alarmed at the tattoo and toe rings. Tatt is a temporary one, just seeing if I want one or not. The toe rings, love them!
love the flowers!
